Local award-winning author Lane Walker graced Marlette Elementary during our energetic "Get in the Game, Read!" for reading month. With an engaging mix of inspiration and humor, he captivated students by sharing powerful themes of resilience, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and the idea that the only limits are those we impose on ourselves.
In a delightful demonstration, he invited student volunteers to assist him in bringing his characters to life, showcasing the joy and creativity in the writing process. Walker's passion for storytelling resonated throughout the room, igniting students' imaginations and encouraging them to explore their creative potential. Ms. Laursen's class engaged with the book "Wei Skates On" on the smart board during the final Trivia Tuesday of March, celebrating Reading Month. Following the reading, students participated in a discussion and responded to a question about the narrative. The student who provided the correct answer was awarded a prize. The class has thoroughly enjoyed the diverse activities organized for Reading Month, enhancing their love for literature and fostering a spirit of friendly competition!
