Marlette Athletics would like to take a moment to recognize a member of the Marlette Community who has played a pivotal role in Marlette Boys and Girls Basketball. Lon Dunsford, a 1984 Graduate from Marlette High School, has dedicated much of his adult life to supporting Marlette Athletics and serving as the official clock operator for Marlette Basketball during that time. This year marks his 40th year of service to Marlette Athletics and Marlette Basketball. We sincerely appreciate his dependability, consistency, and support of Marlette Athletics as he has found a way to give back to his school’s basketball program. Thank you, Lon!

Elementary Dress-Up Days
January is School Board Recognition Month, a time to express our appreciation for the individuals who devote themselves to the betterment of our students and public schools. School Board Members play a crucial role in representing the perspectives and priorities of our community, with their decisions profoundly impacting our children and shaping the future of our district. Through their dedication, collaboration with district staff, governance, and advocacy efforts, they are actively building a brighter future for education in Michigan. Regardless of the challenges that may arise for our district in 2025, we are confident that our school board members will continue in their commitment to enhance student achievement and deliver exceptional education to our community’s children. The responsibilities of a school board member can be demanding, with long hours and often limited recognition. This month, we encourage everyone in our community to take a moment to express gratitude to a board member. Let us take this opportunity to show our continuous appreciation for these dedicated leaders and to gain a deeper understanding of how our local trustees work to prepare today’s students to become tomorrow’s leaders.
