Dave Hayden, a remarkable teacher, coach, and friend, has left a lasting impact on the Marlette community. He is known for his kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his students. Whether he offers a listening ear or goes the extra mile to support them, Dave's positive influence is felt by all who know him.

As a coach, Dave's leadership is a shining example, sharing the significance of composure and control for his athletes. His unwavering commitment to his teams is evident in his early morning greetings, high fives, and lighthearted jokes that never fail to uplift the spirits of students at the school.

Outside of his professional life, Dave is a pillar of the Marlette community, a devoted family man with five children and four grandchildren. His roots are deeply embedded in Marlette, where he has been a teacher at the Jr/Sr High School for 13 years and a coach since 1993. From coaching youth soccer to leading the first boys and girls varsity soccer teams, Dave's influence on the sports community is immeasurable. His leadership extends to the baseball field, where he coached Little League before becoming Varsity Baseball Coach in 2016, leading his team to the state semi-finals. In 2021, Dave embraced the challenge of coaching football, dedicating himself to the development of young athletes as the JV Football team coach.

Dave's selfless contributions to Marlette's youth are a testament to his character. He attributes much of his success to his family's unwavering support. His commitment to the community has made him a beloved figure, and Marlette is fortunate to have such a dedicated Friend of the Youth in its midst.
